DSI Open House: Wednesday September 24, 2008
Our DSI Open House was a great success! We featured information on the research pursued by members of the Center, and sought to entice students to work with our stellar, cross-disciplinary faculty. Students were encouraged to attend, and to invite any students who they thought might be interested in pursuing new research opportunities.
We had well over 100 people in attendance. We ran many different displays featuring the research of a large portion of our affiliated faculty, including Dennis Groth, Minaxi Gupta, Dirk van Gucht, David Leake, Fil Menczer, Beth Plale, Luis Rocha, Kalpana Shankar, and Melanie Wu. Graduate and undergraduate students had the chance to meet our faculty and engage with them in discussions about their research.
The DSI Studio is a collaboratory space where student and faculty researchers can come together to explore, experiment, and visualize ideas.Food and refreshments were served!
