IU Distinguished Professor and C. Ben Dutton Professor of Law Fred H. Cate has been named vice president for research. An international expert on privacy, security and other information law and policy issues, Cate also serves as director of the IU Center for Law, Ethics and Applied Research in Health Information and the Center for Information Privacy and Security and holds an adjunct appointment in the School of Informatics and Computing.

Campers in grades 7-12 used computer programming skills to conduct a simulated Mars rover mission at this first-ever advanced camp. The IU Pervasive Technology Institute has hosted the camp for nine years to build interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

The RDA lowers barriers to open sharing of data across technologies, disciplines, and countries. As an RDA member PTI gains visibility as a data providing / serving organization, and exposure for such large data projects as the HathiTrust Research Center and the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.
