High performance computing (HPC) is being used in ways that increasingly touch people’s lives. D2I researches new technical and cultural approaches to HPC that enable more transparency in science, open science, and responsible use.
- Dr. Plale will serve as the Chair for Reproducibility and Transparency at Supercomputing 2020.
- Campaign Knowledge Network. In collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, D2I is studying transparency in exascale computing through a lightweight knowledge network. The activity, which engaged D2I PhD student Sachith Withana as an intern at ORNL Summer 2019, is using the Komadu provenance system.
- Komadu is a standalone provenance capture tool that can be added to an existing cyberinfrastructure for the purpose of collecting and visualizing provenance information about digital objects. It supports the W3C PROV specification. Komadu is the successor of the Karma provenance tool which is based on OPM. https://github.com/Data-to-Insight-Center/komadu
