Julie Wernert leads Cyberinfrastructure Assessment and Evaluation (CAE), bringing nearly three decades of practice and experience to the role. A longtime member of the NSF-funded XSEDE project’s Strategy, Planning, and Evaluation team, she concentrates her efforts on return-on-investment analysis, longitudinal studies, and other program assessment activities. Wernert also leads the biennial UITS assessment, as well as evaluation activities for the NSF-funded Jetstream and NCGAS projects. Prior to launching CAE, she led a study investigating the development and sustainability of major NSF-funded software initiatives. After many years of involvement, Wernert will be the co-general chair for PEARC 2022.

Originally from Brazil, Dr. Claudia Costa holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Costa’s work for PTI concentrates her efforts as a business and data analyst on the XSEDE return-on-investment (ROI) studies and on the OVPIT cyberinfrastructure value assessment. Before joining IU, she worked at Hewlett-Packard as a data engineer and Oracle DBA.
Tonya A. Miles

Tonya Miles is a member of the XSEDE Strategic Planning and Evaluation team, concentrating her efforts on XSEDE assessment activities, particularly longitudinal studies, the annual user survey, and PEARC evaluation activities, among others. Prior to joining IU, the Hoosier native and IU alumna co-founded PixelBeaker, an educational technology firm specializing in custom solutions for health care and veterinary professionals.Previously, she worked in various program leadership roles at Texas A&M University and Cornell University.
Harmony Jankowski, Ph.D.

Dr. Harmony Jankowski holds a Ph.D. in English with a minor in Critical Theory from Indiana University, Bloomington. Her work for the CAE team draws heavily on her extensive background in technical and scientific writing, and focuses on evaluation and reporting for local and national programs, NSF-funded Jetstream2 and NCGAS among them. Dr. Jankowski is also engaged in various studies analyzing return on investment (ROI) for the XSEDE project.
Freya Dave

Freya is a senior at Indiana University, Bloomington majoring in economics with a minor in statistics. She has experience working with and presenting datasets across many disciplines. As an intern at CAE, she will primarily be working on interfaces for data exploration and visualization.
