PACIFIC RIM APPLICATIONS AND GRID MIDDLEWARE ASSEMBLY (PRAGMA)

Grid technologies. Pacific Rim investigators. Shared infrastructure and middleware.

About

Formed in 2002, the Pacific Rim Applications and Grid Middleware Assembly (PRAGMA) establishes sustained collaborations and advances the use of grid technologies in applications. These collaborations include a community of investigators in leading institutions around the Pacific Rim. Currently there are 35 institutions in PRAGMA, who meet twice a year at PRAGMA workshops.

In PRAGMA, applications are the key, integrating focus that bring together the necessary infrastructure and middleware to advance the application’s goals. PRAGMA is made up of four working groups, and they focus their activities in the following areas:

  • resources and data
  • biosciences
  • telescience
  • global earth observatory (GEO)
